Fullerton College: A Pictorial History

Harold E. Walberg arrived in Fullerton in 1919, and quickly became the head of the Music Departments for both the high school and college. In addition to his school work, Walberg also formed the Orange County Orchestra in 1920, fronted the Walberg String Trio (shown here in 1922), taught piano lessons in his Fullerton home, and composed music. Besides the music for FCJ’s Alma Mater, Walberg’s best-known tune is “Orange County Paradise”: Beside the blue Pacific Ocean/At the foot of the mountains so grand/Lives a county in all of its splendor/Truly made of the Master’s hand.
